Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

Each Wednesday, school is released 50 minutes early to provide time for teachers to engage in professional learning community (PLC) activities.

The teacher teams focus on improving student achievement during this time. It is different than teacher planning time. Outcomes and products are monitored by department leaders, principals and district support staff.

Student success is measurable through teachers created growth goals, school improvement plans and the district improvement plan.

The PLC resource binder was originally created in 2011 by a committee of teachers and administrators. This guidance coincided with the beginning of early release in North Kitsap. In 2015, the resource binder was revised.
